Morning Weight – 165lbs

Workout

  • Back and Bis
  • Chinups 5×6
  • DB Row 5×8-5
  • Shrugs 5×8
  • Cable Row 4×8
  • Bicep Curl 4×8

Heavy chinups with a 25 lbs weighted vest to start off back.  Moved to 90lb DB rows after that.  I decided to decrease the number of moves and increase the volume and weight on the main exercises, since they do the most magic anyway.  Really felt shrugs working my traps with 185lbs and then finished with a cable row and Bicep curl superset.  Usually by the end of this workout my biceps are so fatigued from pullups, I dont too much arm work.

Journal

Read a couple of books over the past few days called carb backloading and carb nite.  The author is very smart and cites numerous citations, but his diets are almost impossible to follow.  The number of supplements and dosages are borderline ridiculous.  He tends to suffer from belief bias as well. (meaning he thinks if you dont do exactly what he says then you wont get results). I disagree with people like this.  Not saying his diet isn’t very effective if followed, but there is more than one way to accomplish a goal and he takes things a little too far.  That being said I still learned a lot from the books and will try and implement some of what he said to what I’m currently doing.
