The Power of Orange

I’m not an overly superstitious person, but I do think the associations with orange and my success are pretty interesting. My favorite colors tend to be neutral (black, silver, white, red) I’m not sure why, but I love these colors.  Mostly because they match everything when it comes to clothes and I think they look the best.  But Orange may have may made the leap to first place and I always find it interesting the POWER certain colors can have.

Orange is associated with:

  • Warmth and Happiness
  • Emotional Strength
  • Helps to bounce back from times for Despair, Depression and Disappointment (something everyone faces eventually)
  • Optimistic and Uplifting
  • Helps with a positive outlook on life
  • Enthusiasm
  • Extroverted
  • Inviting
  • Assimilation of New Ideas
  • Most Importantly – UNDERRATED (doesn’t get the attention it deserves)

Orange relates to my life in many ways and I admit I definitely took it for granted.  Here is a list of how important it has been so far:

  • Elementary and Middle school colors (Black and Orange)
  • Powhatan High School Color (Black and Orange)
  • High School Tennis Team wore Orange uniforms
  • Tennis Racket is Orange
  • Virginia Tech Colors (Marron and Orange)
  • College Ring Gem Stone color (symbolizes degree and success)
  • The colors of my graduation gowns both had orange
  • Orange Tie I wore.  2/2 on Interviews with acceptance, when wearing an orange tie (wore black and red ties many times and got nothing)
  • Symbolizes Fall – My Favorite Season (the colors of falling leaves in Autumn is one of the most beautiful things I witness each year)
  • Color of some of my favorite foods – Sweet potatoes, pumpkin, carrots (Essential sources of Vitamin A needed for energy, feel good hormones and good eye sight)
  • Second color of a Rainbow (which I saw on the day I got hired)
  • Most Importantly every time I had great Success – I was wearing Orange.

Orange has been part of my success without me even realizing it for all my life.  I always take pride in adopting a favorite color as I feel it adds to your personality or maybe even describes your personality.  This is my tribute to the underrated color Orange, which for me equals success.
