Morning Weight –172 lbs

Workout

  • 5 mile run
  • 50 pushups
  • 25 pull-ups

Easy run today was all I did for my workout.  Been low 80’s and mid 70’s temperature wise here recently, so I figured I would take advantage as long as I could.

Got in about 2000 calories today total.  Got lazy today and didn’t feel like posting pics ;).

Journal

Read some very interesting facts about nicotine today.  More shocking to be honest.  Some of the factors it triggers are incredible such as making fat burning much easier and literally triggering several factors that encourage muscle growth such as turning on the mTOR pathway.  Apparently you don’t get resistant to its effects like you do with caffeine.  You only need a very small dose to get the benefits, which is about 1-2mg per piece of nicotine gum.  The average cigarette has about 40-60mg of nicotine.  May do a post on it tomorrow and as I researched more about it the results looked very promising.
